Keeri Samba Ariya, grown in Sri Lanka, is rice with small and smooth grains. At just 2 to 4 mm long, Keeri Samba has even shorter grains than regular Samba rice, and in fact, it is the smallest grain of all Samba varieties. Keeri Samba is much harder than other Samba varieties. The taste is also more starchy. Keeri Samba contains more protein, iron and fiber than other varieties of long-grain white rice. In India, Keeri Samba is considered perfect for biryani. In Sri Lanka, it is also the best choice for fried rice.
