The rohu is a large, silver-colored fish of typical cyprinid shape, with a conspicuously arched head. Rohu Fish is a member of the carp family, the rohu (or rui) is popularly found in the rivers of northern and central India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Myanmar, and Pakistan. Rohu is a colorful fish with dark scales on its upper body, a golden brown belly, and fins that are bright red. Adults can reach a maximum weight of 45 kg (99 lb) and a maximum length of 2 m (6.6 ft) but average around 1⁄2 m (1.6 ft).
