Selgam/ Turnip
The turnip is thought to have originated in middle and eastern Asia and is grown throughout the temperate zone. Young turnip roots are eaten raw in salads, juices or pickles. When cooked, they are served whole or as puree. Turnips are very often used in stews, sauces, sabzi, salads, tartas and juices.
